“Control Freak”

“Control Freak”

Elliot Holden, aka the “Urban Guitar Legend”, defines a new style of music called “Cinematic Urban Music”. He coined the term after discovering that mixing his guitar sensibilities with a naturally “urban” flare unearthed a complex harmonic mixture rarely touched upon. Think Blade Runner, James Bond or the Matrix with a dash of Dr. Dre and Kanye West showered with sprinkles of Eric Johnson and Jimi Hendrix.

His mixtape “After The Club” Volume One has received critical raves and substantial views on YouTube and DatPiff. Set to a backdrop of current Hip Hop and R&B, Elliot has created a unique formula in the pantheon of guitar shred pioneers. He has built a strong regional following and earned opening slots with such acts as THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND and DIRTY DOZEN BRASS BAND. He was featured in GUITAR PLAYER Magazine’s Spotlight and his fiery playing has been compared to that of Eric Johnson, Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix. However the scope of Holden’s influences reaches far beyond the scope of guitar virtuosos.
